Surgical Oncology
Dr. Sarah Boston

Dr Sarah Boston is a veterinary surgical oncologist who is an ACVS board certified small animal surgeon and an ACVS Founding Fellow of both Surgical Oncology and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. She spent the first half of her career in academia as a tenured faculty member at both the University of Guelph and the University of Florida. She is currently in private practice in the Toronto area. She lectures nationally and internationally on veterinary surgical oncology. She has published numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters, some of them good.

Dr Boston is also a best-selling author of the book, LUCKY DOG: HOW BEING A VETERINARIAN SAVED MY LIFE and the creators of The Cageliner, a satirical online newspaper for veterinary professionals. Her newest passion is stand up comedy. She completed the Humber College Comedy Performance and Writing Program in 2023, where she won the Award for Academic Excellence in her program and the Tim Sims Encouragement Award for emerging comedic performers. What I am saying here is Sarah is a bit of a nerd, regardless of what she is doing. She performs stand up around the GTA and is a regular performer at YukYuks in Toronto on the Rising Stars show. She has an acting agent and is a member of ACTRA (Apprentice) and honestly things have been a bit quiet on that front. Sarah just started a podcast called Comedicine, where she talks to healthcare professionals (human and animal) who are also comedians. She is trying to bring comedy to her profession because she believes veterinarians need to laugh more. (Actually, everyone needs to laugh more, she is starting with veterinarians.)
